We all get bored at our computers as we do the same thing day in and day out. We type up a few letters, we surf the web for a few, and it always results in the same thing, us getting more and more tired of being bored when we are on the computer. You need to start thinking about playing online games.
One way to break up that monotony is to play some quick online games to get your blood flowing again. Regardless of the types of games that you like to play, it is all but guaranteed that you can find a version of it on the Internet.
We all have our favorite games. The problem usually is that you cannot find anyone else in the house that shares your passion for the game or that is around when you are in the mood to play. You are never going to have that problem again when you start playing games online because there is always someone out there that is as anxious as you are to play every minute of every day. How many times have settled for playing the 8 year old in the house and had to throw the game so they wouldn’t start crying? No worries now, you can go all out every time and play to the best of your abilities.
Playing in a league is also a great way to make use of online games. Leagues are set up at various different levels and are available just about each and every night of the week. You can plainly that plays every day or mage just once a week. They also have leagues that only play one game a week, but you get to play it at your convenience when you and your opponent beside is the best time for both of you. It’s a far cry from dreading that you know each and every Wednesday night is committed for the next six months of your life.
Playing a game online is also just a great way to get familiar with a new game. Every now and then someone starts talking about a game and the whole gang gets revved up. What happens when you are the only person in the office that doesn’t know how to play it, but you want to have fun just like the next guy? You can go online and learn the basics up the game without looking like a dummy in front of the rest of the office. In fact, you can play as much as you want and end up getting better than everyone else before you know it!
The best part about online gaming is that it is not just restricted to things like rummy and monopoly. If you want to play video pool, darts or even bowling, there is a site out there that will provide the game and plenty of competition to go along with it.
If those types of games are not your cup of tea, you can always play role games. These types of games are probably the most popular games out on the market right now. Every time you turn around someone seems to be talking about a game like War Craft to the point of obsession. It is actually very easy to get addicted and the fact you are constantly playing in different environments with different people makes it all the more exciting.
Playing online games gives you another great option to use your computer at home. That machine is just not for knocking out homework, office work, surfing the web and paying bills. You can actually use it to have a little bit of fun too! Get online and find an opponent in your favorite game and take your shot at playing online games.

Back in the spring of this year (2009), I decided to pay a visit to Washington Square Park (pictures of which are available here), having earlier stumbled upon some photos I had taken there 40 years earlier, in the spring of 1969 (photos of which are included in this album). I was surprised to see that the park was undergoing massive renovation, and that the fountain was closed off; but some construction signs promised that it would be open once again in the summer …
So this past weekend, I decided to venture back to the park once again. The renovation was indeed finished; the fountain was operating again, and the warm, sunny weather had attracted throngs of New Yorkers and tourists to spend a pleasant afternoon engaged in all sorts of activities — much of which involved splashing around in the water. But there was also juggling and chess and scrabble, guitar-playing folk-singers and a violinist, two different jazz bands, and an energetic quartet singing old 1950s doo-wop ballads.
I spotted tourists and visitors from Japan, Italy, Scandinavia, and various parts of the U.S. People were sunbathing on various patches of grass around the edge of the park. There were children, students, lovers, families, and old hippies; and there were half a dozen dogs, at least a few of which enjoyed the opportunity to splash in the pool. There was an ice-cream cart and a hot dog stand, and if the park was anything like the old days, there probably at least a few places to buy drugs of every conceivable kind. For those who might have wondered what this place really was like in the "old days," there was a cheerful old guy (named Robert Fogelnest, from what I could find on the Internet) peddling copies of a book titled The Streets of Greenwich Village.
All in all, there was something for just about everyone. If you’ve got an afternoon free while it’s still summer here in New York City, I highly recommend a stroll through Washington Square Park. Remember: summer won’t last forever…
